Dr Chris Oyakhilome Opens BIU Faculty of Engineering Building

Dr Chris Oyakhilome, founder and President of formerly known Believers Loveworld Inc now known as Loveworld Inc on Tuesday, paid endless tributes to the memory of the late Archbishop of the Church of God Mission International, Benson Idahosa. He went further to encourage everyone to key into his legacy by contributing to actualize his dream University. Idahosa died 22 years ago, precisely March 12, 1998.
It will suffice to note that in the year 2016 he donated 1 billion naira towards the actualization of the Faculty of Engineering building at the Benson Idahosa University (BIU), in Benin City, Edo State.
In his words, Oyakhilome said “I am one grateful person; grateful for what Bishop Idahosa was did in his life time. Coming here, I thought about the legacy of Idahosa. I always have it in mind that I am his legacy. We are part of his fruit. I count myself blessed for being given the opportunity to celebrate him. Idahosa gave me a picture of what I would become today before he passed on”.
Having built the Faculty of Engineering after the promise made by Dr Oyakhilome in 2016.According to him, the donation was not only towards contributing to the actualisation of the dream of late Benson Idahosa, but also an opportunity for him to contribute to his dreams. He also Commended the late archbishop’s family for keeping up with his legacy, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome acknowledged that the person he had become today was sharpened by Idahosa “so, I didn’t think I was doing something other than expressing my appreciation. I took the opportunity afforded me to say thank you”.
He said “Idahosa had always told us to support the poor and the government. He said this knowing that the government is not poor. He taught us how to give. Idahosa was a giver, all the way from Africa he gave towards the establishment of the Oral Robert University in the United states of America. We are the legacy of his ministry, life, work and message; we are taking this message everywhere”.
Speaking at the occasion, BIU Chancellor and widow of the arch Bishop, Margaret Idahosa, said she never doubted the actualization of the University even when some people expressed fear that it would be a tall dream after the demise of the founder.
According to her, “nobody ever thought that BIU will be a reality. I thank God for people like PastorChris Oyakhilome and others who have made this dream a reality”. Similarly,the President of the University, Bishop Feb Idahosa, stated that BIU remained a legacy that was built by all, including the students and the likes of Chris Oyakhilome. “It is not a one-man show.
