I am a Christian. My mind is Christian. My influences are Christian. When I listen, I filter through Christian filters.

The NCDC bill has very dangerous implications for Christianity in Nigeria and how we worship God. It puts us at the mercy of the personality of whoever is the DG of NCDC. It puts us at the mercy of the “incorruptible”, “disciplined” and “well behaved” Nigeria Police.

The bill gives the Minister of Health and the Director General of NCDC and the Police incredible authority and power.

1. The DG can close down any gathering if, IN HIS OPINION, will cause infection of people.

This means the DG can close down a crusade, can close down a church service, can close a house fellowship etc personally (he doesn’t need any proof) using WHATEVER FORCE HE DEEMS NECESSARY.

2. The DG can arrest anyone who in his opinion (without any proof) is suspected to be infected and ISOLATE HIM FOR AS LONG AS HE WANTS ANYWHERE HE WANTS.

So you can be arrested even if you have proof you’re not infected AS LONG AS THE DG BELIEVES YOU ARE.

You can not go to court to appeal. You cannot go to court to prevent any wrong. You cannot go to court to protect your rights. You cannot even go to court for compensation for any injustice or any injury done to you.

It is important to take a stand against this evil bill.
